WBBL 2018-19 Sydney Sixers Women vs Brisbane Heat Women Final Match Prediction

The Sydney Sixers are the most successful side in WBBl history and are going to be attempting to win the WBBL title for a third straight year. They also made it to the final in the inaugural edition but lost narrowly to Sydney Thunder.

The WBBL final is going to be a whole new experience for the Brisbane Heat women. This is the first time that the side has made it this far and will need something really special to win.

The Sydney Sixers are playing their fourth straight WBBL final and are trying to be the WBBL winners for the third straight year. This is, however, the first time that they are going to be playing the WBBL final at home.

It was not like the Sydney Sixers women needed this extra bit of advantage on their side either.

The Sydney Sixers are loaded with international stars that have been performing at their best. Alyssa Healy, Ellyse Perry, and Ashleigh Gardner are all Australian international players. They are backed up by Marizanne Kapp and Dane van Niekerk, two of South Africa’s best international players.

This strong core of the side makes them very resilient and hard to beat.

Ellyse Perry has scored a staggering 744 runs in the WBBL this season at an average of 93.00. She still has one match to go and is already 188 runs ahead of the next batter on the list. Perry also scored 54 in the semi-final to keep the Sydney Sixers afloat and is going to be the biggest wicket in this match.

There is something about Alyssa Healy and the big moments. She relishes playing under pressure and is the player we are backing to be the highest scorer in this match. Healy showed incredible presence of mind by affecting a run-out at the non-strikers end off the last ball of the WBBL semi-final to tie the match. She is going to be in excellent spirits and very difficult to stop.

Backing these two is Ashleigh Gardner, another supremely talented batter. Erin Burns has also done well in the opportunities she has got. Van Niekerk and Kapp may not have got too many opportunities to bat in the WBBL but have done well whenever it was asked of them.

It is going to take something really special to get through this batting order.

Perry, Kapp, van Niekerk, Gardner all bowl as well and along with Lauren Cheatle form a formidable bowling unit.

There is a reason why the Sydney Sixers women have been as successful as they have and it will take a brave person to bet against them.

Brisbane Heat women do not have the same big names at their disposal as the Sydney Sixers women do. They do not have the history, the pedigree, or the depth in their side to compare with the Sydney Sixers.

Still, they are in the finals of the WBBL and they have reached there through being fearless.

There are two Australian international players in the Brisbane Heat side, Beth Mooney and Delissa Kimmince. Both the players have led the Brisbane Heat side from the front. Beth Mooney is the highest run scorer for Brisbane Heat with 421 runs to her name and Delissa Kimmince is the highest wicket-taker for the side with 20 scalps to her name.

Kimmince is also the second highest wicket-taker in the WBBL overall this season.

There is no doubt that both these players will have a massive role to play in the WBBL final. The good thing about the Brisbane Heat women is that they have not been dependent on just a few players doing everything.

Grace Harris has been one of the finds of the tournament with her aggressive batting. If there is one player that can win the match on her own for the Brisbane Heat then its Grace Harris.

Sammy-Jo Johnson has been a revelation as an all-rounder as well. She has 19 wickets to her name and 256 runs as well. That is a phenomenal performance. She is another young player that is going to play fearlessly and leave everything on the ground.

Add Jess Jonassen, Laura Harris, and Laura Wolvaardt to the list and you have a very good side indeed. There is no doubt that the Brisbane Heat women are going to be the underdogs in the WBBL final but they should be underestimated at your own peril.

We think that Sammy-Jo Johnson and Grace Harris are going to be the two players that can win them this match. If they get some support from the senior players and are left to do their own thing, we may well have an upset on our hands.

WBBL 2018-19 Sydney Sixers Women vs Brisbane Heat Women Final Match Prediction

The side winning the toss is likely to bat first

The WBBL final between Sydney Sixers women and Brisbane Heat women is going to be played at the Drummoyne Oval, Sydney. The weather forecast for match day is excellent. There should be no rain playing spoilsport and the two teams will get a full chance to express themselves on the field.

The pitch at the Drummoyne Oval was good for batting and that is how it should be for the WBBL final as well.

The Sydney Sixers are the easy favorites and the odds reflect that. Looking at the obvious strengths, experience, and form of the Sydney Sixers, it is difficult to argue against backing them. We do think, though, that there will be plenty of opportunities to back the Brisbane Heat at inflated priced during in-play betting and punters should take advantage of them as well.

Back Sydney Sixers to win.
