WBBL 2018-19 Brisbane Heat Women vs Adelaide Strikers Women 43rd Match Prediction. The Brisbane Heat women have an excellent chance of piling the pressure on the frontrunners of the WBBL as they take on the Adelaide Strikers women. Brisbane Heat has been very good in this season of the women’s Big Bash League with 6 wins from its 10 matches.

ABOUT THE MATCH

The Adelaide Strikers women, on the other hand, have not had as good a tie in the WBBL. They only have two wins from their nine matches. One of their matches was rained out although that still does not make for too good a reading.

The Adelaide Strikers are coming into this match on the back of a heavy loss while Brisbane Heat absolutely pummeled the Hobart Hurricanes women in their last encounter. Things are not looking too good for the Strikers.

MATCH PREVIEW

BRISBANE HEAT WOMEN

Brisbane Heat has been a force in the WBBL this year thanks to some brilliant batting performances. We have said repeatedly that the WBBL is dominated by teams that are strong batting units since no side has an outstanding bowling attack.

There is also a lack in depth of the batting order for most teams. Certain sides like the Sydney Sixers, Sydney Thunder, and Brisbane Heat have built up a very decent batting lineup which is enabling them to win more matches than they lose.

Grace Harris has been one of the revelations of this WBBL season. She scored the fastest hundred in the WBBL earlier this season and has played more than one match winning inning. Her overly aggressive style of batting can be a bit unpredictable but there is no doubt she is a huge threat for any opposing side.

Harris is well supported by Mooney, Johnson, Short, and Jonassen in the Brisbane Heat batting order. Even Dooley, batting at number 6 in the last match, scored 44 and showed that Brisbane Heat has plenty of batters on which to call upon.

Johnson, Jonassen, Harris, and Kimmince also play a huge role in the bowling unit of Brisbane Heat. There are plenty of players that can roll their arm over in this side and that give Brisbane Heat some flexibility as well.

Brisbane Heat Women Team

Jemma Barsby, Haidee Birkett, Josephine Dooley, Grace Harris, Sammy-Jo Johnson, Jess Jonassen, Delissa Kimmince, Sune Luus, Beth Mooney, Georgia Prestwidge, Kirby Short, Laura Wolvaardt, Charli Knott.

ADELAIDE STRIKERS WOMEN

The Adelaide Strikers women would be very disappointed at the way their WBBl season has progressed so far. They have some very decent players in their side and should have done better, at least on paper, but that has not been the case.

The Adelaide Strikers women have two very talented women opening the batting for them. Suzie Bates and Sophie Devine open the batting for New Zealand and are considered to be one of the opening pairs in world cricket.

Bates scored a 60 in the last match and Devine has been putting in some match-winning performances as well.

The problem has been the rest of the side. There is no one to follow behind these two and the batting can fall off a cliff once the openers are back in the hut.

McGrath scored 45 in the last match to raise some hopes from the middle order but her efforts were eventually not enough to win Adelaide Strikers their last match against the Sydney Sixers.

There is no doubt in our mind that the Adelaide Strikers are capable of pulling off a few upsets. Any match in which their opening pair gets away will be one where the Strikers find themselves in winning positions.

They also Megan Schutt to lead the bowling attack, something she does regularly for Australia at the international level.

The Adelaide Strikers may find themselves near the rock bottom of the WBBL standings right now but this is not a side to be taken lightly. They could be the proverbial banana peel for all upcoming WBBL teams.

WBBL 2018-19 Brisbane Heat Women vs Adelaide Strikers Women 43rd Match Prediction

Adelaide Strikers Women Squad

Suzie Bates(c), Sophie Devine, Megan Schutt, Tahlia McGrath, Alex Price, Sarah Coyte, Ellie Falconer, Amanda Wellington, Tegan McPharlin, Katelyn Pope, Samantha Betts, Danielle Hazell, Bridget Patterson, Tabatha Saville, Eliza Doddridge.

TOSS PREDICTION

The side winning the toss is likely to field first with rain round

PITCH AND CONDITIONS

The WBBL match between Brisbane Heat women and Adelaide Strikers women is going to be played at Harrup Park, Mackay. There has been plenty of rain around in Mackay, Queensland and the same has been forecast for match day as well.

Hopefully, there will be enough gaps in the weather to allow for a game to played out but we could definitely see a truncated game. The pitch is going to be a bit slow and could be difficult for scoring.

OUR PREDICTION

A T20 match does not really have much scope to be further reduced because it becomes a lottery when it does happen. We would advise backing Brisbane Heat to win if the weather improves but going for an upset if the match is shortened and Adelaide Strikers win the toss.

Back Brisbane Heat women to win.
