Hobart Hurricanes Women vs Perth Scorchers Women 20th Match Prediction. It’s the two teams from Sydney that sit at the top of the WBBL league table right now. The teams are pretty packed together but there have already been quite a few surprises in the Women’s BBL to some pre-tournament favorites.
Perth Scorchers were regarded as one of the stronger teams in the WBBL but three losses from five matches has not been the kind of start they would have envisaged. They will be taking on the Hobart Hurricanes in this match who have been able to record just one victory from their five matches so far.
Neither of the two teams is in good form in the leadup to this match and would be targeting a win to spark of a comeback.
HOBART HURRICANES WOMEN
The Hobart Hurricanes came up against a rampaging Elyse Perry in the last match as they took on the Sydney Sixers. Some excellent batting and some not so great bowling from the Hobart Hurricanes meant they were chasing down a total of 159 which they fell short by 17 runs.
T20 cricket may make it seem like 17 runs is a huge margin but the Hobart Hurricanes actually put up a decent fight with the bat. Smriti Mandhana at the top of the order smashed three sixes before getting out, Knight played an aggressive cameo, and Redmayne stayed not out on 47.
To say, however, that the Hobart Hurricanes were in with a realistic shot of winning that match at any time is not correct either.
The Hurricanes have struggled in this tournament because their bowling has not been able to pose any threat to the opposition and their batting has not fired. The top order of Fazackerley, Mandhana, Daffara, and Knight need to play with much more consistency.
Mandhana has actually been in good form and has a fifty to her name in this edition of the WBBL already. She, however, needs to pace her innings a little better. Right now it looks like she is going too hard and is unable to bat for longer periods as she has shown in the past.
After ending the previous season of the WBBL in last place, things are not looking too much better for the Hobart Hurricanes this time around as well.
PERTH SCORCHERS WOMEN
A complete batting failure for the Perth Scorchers in their second match against the Melbourne Stars consigned them to their third defeat of the WBBL. There is no way that you can expect to win if your team does not even score a total of 100 runs.
For the Perth Scorchers which has a relatively strong batting lineup, this was a slap in the face.
Bolton was the only player that got into double figures among the top-7. Senior players like Jones, Villani, and Graham did not contribute anything to the total while the emerging middle order also did not offer any resistance.
There is not much that you can do about such a performance as a team except forget it and move on quickly. Nothing went right for the Perth Scorchers in their batting stint and they will be hoping that such an instance does not happen again in this WBBL.
The Perth Scorchers did take 6 scalps in their defense of this paltry total but that was more about the batters throwing away their wickets. Two of the batters were run-out so that is also something to be considered.
The bowling attack of Jensen, Graham, King, and Cross is pretty decent but like most WBBL teams, the batting is what is going to be the decisive factor in matches going forward.

PITCH AND CONDITIONS
The WBBL match between the Hobart Hurricanes and the Perth Scorchers is going to be played at the Bellerive Oval, Hobart. The weather forecast for match day is pretty decent even though there has been some rain around.
The pitch at the Bellerive Oval is good for batting and we should some decent runs being scored. Both the teams are in poor batting form and that could affect the kind of totals we see.
We think that the Perth Scorchers have enough quality in their side to recover from a horrendous game. The Hobart Hurricanes are dangerous batting unit but its inconsistency and the lack of wicket taking ability is going to hurt them.
Back the Perth Scorchers to win.
