Khulna Titans Team News & Playing 11

KT Team News

Khulna Titans retained Mamudullah, Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Ariful Haque and Carlos Brathwaite from the side which finished third last season. Among their new additions is Sri Lanka captain Lasith Malinga, but he will not be available until after Sri Lanka’s tour of New Zealand concludes.

KT Key Players

Experienced captain Mahmudullah comes into the tournament in good form, having contributed with bat and ball as Bangladesh hosted West Indies in November and December. Most recently, he took five wickets in the three T20i matches and had a high score of 43 not out with the bat.

Carlos Brathwaite was in the West Indies team for those matches, and kept things tidy with some tight bowling in the first and third matches as the tourists won the series. The hero of West Indies’ World T20 win in 2016, Brathwaite was previously most recently engaged at the T10 League.

Other overseas selections include Zahir Khan, the uncapped Afghanistan leg-spinner, who played for Lancashire in the T20 Blast in the English summer and looked tidy in the Afghanistan Premier League and T10 League.

Khulna Titans Predicted Playing 11

Rangpur Riders Team News & Playing 11

RGR Team News

Defending champions Rangpur Riders retained Chris Gayle – the star of the show when these sides last met – but he was not available for the opening game after seeing in the New Year in his home country. AB De Villiers, another of their eye-catching signings, will join later in the tournament too. Alex Hales, Ravi Bopara, Benny Howell and Rilee Rossouw were the overseas contingent for the first game.

RGR Key Players

Ravi Bopara top scored for Rangpur Riders in their low-scoring opening game – anchoring the innings with a patient 44 in a total of 98 all out. He had come in at 10/3. Alex Hales went first ball, but the explosive England opener will be a man to watch if he fires – especially as he chases a recall to the England ODI starting XI for the World Cup.

Rilee Rossouw also fell short in the first game but will expect to score plenty as the tournament goes on.

With the ball, captain Mashrafe Mortaza kept things tidy in his four overs, picking up 2-24, while Nazmul Islam (1-17) and Benny Howell (1-13) were also economical. The real test will be when they are not defending such a low score, however.

Rangpur Riders Predicted Playing 11

  • Mehedi Maruf, Alex Hales, Mohammad Mithun, Rilee Rossouw, Ravi Bopara, Benny Howell, Farhad Reza, Mashrafe Mortaza, Sohag Gazi, Nazmul Islam, Shafiul Islam
