BBL 2018 – Melbourne Renegades Women vs Brisbane Heat Women 19th Match Prediction. Melbourne Renegades and Brisbane Heat have played three games each and won one match so far. Their performances in the WBBL season so far have been wildly inconsistent and it looks like the teams are still getting their combinations right.
We don’t think either of these two sides are among the strongest in the WBBL right now. They are, however, pretty evenly matched and that is why this match should be an exciting one.
MELBOURNE RENEGADES WOMEN
The Melbourne Renegades were wiped out in their first match, won the second, and had to sit through a rained out encounter in their third. All that is missing is tie to round out every possible result for the Melbourne Renegades this season.
The side will have taken a lot of confidence with its victory against the Adelaide Strikers. The Melbourne Renegades were going into that match with a heavy loss on their minds and against a side that is definitely in the running to be a contender for the WBBL title this year.
The Melbourne Renegades played a wonderful match and pulled off an amazing chase. The match was won with a four off the last ball as two of the younger players stood up and anchored a tense chase.

- T10 League 2018- Sindhis vs Northern Warriors 16th Match Prediction
The Melbourne Renegades have a pretty decent batting order thanks to the presence of Wyatt and Sattherthwaite at the top of the order. These two international players are followed by ENglis, Molineaux, and the stars of the last match Koski and Kershaw.
There is no doubt about the class of Wyatt, Satterthwaite, and Molineux. The only question we have is about the scoring rate for Wyatt and the consistency of Molineux. We are not sure of Molineux is ready to play near the top of the order in order to lay the base for its team in most matches.
If she can, though, get in some sort of form and provide the middle order ballast this side needs then the Melbourne Renegades become much more balanced. Koski and Kershaw are going to be filled with confidence after the heist they pulled off against the Adelaide Strikers but they are still unproven at this level.
The Melbourne Renegades batting has some potential but we would like to see it perform for a couple of more matches before being totally convinced by it.
Molineux leads the boling effort for the Melbourne Renegades with support from Tahuhu, Wareham, and Vlaeminck. The lead bowlers are steady without being outstanding. There is nothing too good or drastically bad about the Melbourne Renegades bowling.
BRISBANE HEAT WOMEN
A hottific batting performance by Brisbane Heat to start its WBBL campaign has been followed by two very decent ones. The first of those batting performances helped Brisbane Heat register its only win of the season so far while the other came in a failed chase against Sydney Thunder.
Brisbane Heat is currently at the bottom of the WBBL League table although that is not something to be too concerned about. The difference in points between the bottom placed side and the top side at the moment is hardly anything.
A couple of wins will see Heat right back at the top of the table.
The player to get them there could be Harris. She scored a brilliant 54 off 28 deliveries with four boundaries and five sixes. She set the tone for her side at the top of the order although it was a shame that her teammates could not capitalize on the opportunity.
Harris, Mooney, Kimmince, and Short are the players that will have to score the bulk of the runs for Brisbane Heat. The presence of Luss in the middle order also gives Brisbane Heat that international quality to call upon and guide the youngsetrs.
If Brisbane Heat is able to continue showing the intent that it showed in the last match then ti could be difficult to beat.
The bowling is a bit of a concern because its bowlers have not been able to pick wickets or stop the opposition from scoring runs. Kimmince, Johnson, Jonassen, and the rest need to do much better.
The side winning the toss is likely to bat first
PITCH AND CONDITIONS
The WBBL match between Melbourne Renegades and Brisbane Heat will be played at the Geelong Cricket Ground. The pitch is expected to be a bit slow and helpful to the spinners. There are some small square boundaries to exploit but overall the match is not going to be very high scoring.
Two closely matched teams with clear vulnerabilities should make for an exciting contest. We think the Melbourne Renegades have a slight advantage because of a middle order that is confident and in form.
Back the Melbourne Renegades to win.
